WHY 'FIVE PAST SIX'
In photography lighting is KEY! So naturally, the studio's name was inspired by lighting. The name 'Five Past Six' stems from Katy's favourite time to photograph (06.05pm). Originating in Queensland, Katy would often shoot at this time as it presented the most magical lighting. Nothing beats twilight lighting - it is the most romantic and beautiful lighting!
WHO OWNS THE (C) COPYRIGHT OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS?
Copyright of all the photographs remains with Five Past Six Studios. You can use the photos on social media, and you can print as many as you need for your personal, non-commercial use. All the legalities are covered in our booking form. The use of images for commercial purposes will incur licensing fees. If you receive an inquiry to use the images for commercial purposes, i.e., a venue wants to use one of your wedding photos for their advertising, blog etc, please refer the inquiry to our team so we can assist them. In the event you have booked a corporate shoot and paid for an exclusive usage license you of course have the exclusive rights to the photos received from your photoshoot.
HOW MANY DIGITAL IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?
It varies depending on how many hours you require – but you will receive all the edited images. What does that mean? It means all the images that have passed the FPS test. Your edited, professionally finished images will be delivered via USB in a beautiful box and a personal Dropbox link will also be provided for quick digital downloads, this includes your initial photography previews. The digital files will be in high-resolution, suitable for printing your own album and enlargements up to A4 and in low-resolution suitable for easy social sharing.
IS YOUR EQUIPMENT EXPENSIVE?
Recently we've realised that many clients aren't aware of the quality and expense of the equipment that our photographers bring to the table. As an example, our equipment exceeds the worth any of the following vehicles: Toyota Yaris, Nissan X-trail, Kia Sportage, Jeep Patriot, and Hyundai i30. As Dr Hammond of Jurassic Park once said, I've "spared no expense" when it comes to my photographic equipment. We'd like to think that this investment translates into helping us create the best possible photographs for our clients.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE GO OVER THE CONTRACTED AMOUNT OF TIME?
We understand that not everything goes as planned during a wedding or event. FPS never pack up before the contracted time, and moreover, we're not leaving on the dot when the contracted time is up. Instead, we will ask you at the end of your contracted time whether or not you would like to extend. If you would like our photographer to stay, we will charge the rates specified in your contract rounded to the closest 30-minute increment.
WHAT IS THE COST TO SECURE THE BOOKING?
A non-refundable retainer in the amount of 20% must be paid in order to reserve a date. The remaining balance is due 14 business days before the event date and is subject to any additional services added to this agreement. Payment must be made electronically via direct deposit as outlined in your invoice unless otherwise instructed. Prints and albums must be ordered within 60 days of your session date.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE PHOTOGRAPHER IS SICK ON THE DAY?
We send another one! Since we have a team of professional photographers, for every wedding that we book, we have a backup person ready to go capture your wedding in an emergency, so you will always have peace of mind that you are covered no matter what!
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY DIGITAL IMAGES?
After your photoshoot, you will receive 3-5 sneak images so you can see the magic you've created! For your final edited complete product photos for family, engagement and editorial photoshoots you will receive your images between 5-10 business days. For wedding photoshoots, you will receive your images between 4-6 weeks. Express service available: If you need your photos extra fast, we can usually accommodate this, additional fees may apply.
